The Adventure Begins!

Today we headed off on an adventure!
Missouri bound on an epic feat of family-visiting.
We will see all of my grandparents (3 sets) in the space of four days.

For such an adventure, one needs Caribou coffee for energy. Whatever excuse I need works.

We arrived in Springfield to visit my paternal grandparents. Took my Grandpa Maurice to Pizza Hut for lunch at his request. My Uncle Steven, a missionary to Brazil for 31 years, joined us and delighted Gideon by speaking in Portuguese. Gideon is very interested in languages. Zoe also met a little girl her age there and said "she's my new best friend!". Zoe meets one everywhere we go it seems.

When we got back to Grandpa's house, the kids got to hang out with their cousin, Larissa. Gideon and Larissa enjoyed coloring together.

Zoe and I worked on her English by editing her Facebook posts.

After waiting for a piano tuner to come tune my grandparents' 100 year old piano, we headed over to the rehab facility where my Grandma Willa is recovering from breaking her leg three weeks ago. It was so good to see her doing so well! She is an amazing woman.

After seeing Grandma, we headed to Panera for a late dinner treat. Yum!

Next we stopped at Dillon's to pick up some groceries for Grandpa and ingredients to make stew for him tomorrow.

This was in Dillon's produce section. Made this Okie laugh...and appreciate the direction.

Tobyn will always find a way to entertain himself.

Went back to Grandpa & Grandma's house and tucked the kids into bed then finished off my night at Church Online. A wonderful beginning to vacation!
