Catch Up Day

This morning while I did some catching up on housework, the kids enjoyed playing learning games on the computer together.

They did a good job being sweet when their free time was up and it was time for laundry jobs.

Toby wasn't very happy about being contained in his "tent" while we worked.

Zoe and Gideon both make some pretty
impressive things on Minecraft.
These pictures are of the helicopter Gideon made today.

The back of the helicopter.

The inside of the helicopter.

Because we feel like it's easy to notice areas in our character that need development, we took an idea
I'd seen and started a "brag board". Anyone can write down when they see someone else doing something kind and/or positive. The kids, especially Zoe, jumped right on board with the idea.

In our effort to lessen animal protein in our diet and eat closer to a vegan diet, we are trying lots of
new recipes. Dinner tonight was quinoa veggie chili. It was a hit with everyone and we had leftovers. Score!

I enjoyed some time with my boys while dinner simmered and we waited for Rod to get home from work.
I love these quiet and calm moments.

Rod took Zoe and Gideon to Quick Trip to get a slushie since they'd been extra helpful and had
great attitudes all day. Then we spent some time doing yard work and cleaning up the garage.
After all of that work, it was nice to come inside and relax.

The kids started their daily art journaling.
Each night they will draw a picture of something they did that day.

Toby's journal page. Mainly just drawing, not much to do with his day.
He made dragons.

Gideon's drawing of him and Rod working outside to feed the rabbits this evening.

Zoe's drawing of getting to play with her neighbor friend, Lexis, this afternoon.

They were in quite the drawing mood so they continued to draw as they listened to me read chapter 4 of Esther.

Excited about my new plan for tomorrow.
Thanks to my sister for the idea.
This will be our summer routine.
