Another day to breathe and enjoy this life. Thankful for semi-slow days. We enjoyed some coloring this morning after we'd completed today's chores. I have always loved to color and it's just that much better to be able to enjoy it with my kids. I used to use it as something to keep them busy so I could work. Today was a wonderful change of getting to enjoy it with them.
Zoe and her pictures.
Tobyn and his pictures.
Me and my pictures.
Gideon and his pictures. He got tired of the pre-drawn
pictures so decided to make some of his own.
We'd had quite a full morning it seemed, so we started a
new thing for the summer: the lunch movie drawing. Zoe,
Gideon, and I each wrote down three movies we'd like to
watch. Any day that we decide is a lunch and movie day,
we'll draw a paper out and watch the movie written on it.
Today we watched "Enchanted". Nothing like Disney coloring
pages to put you in a Disney movie mood.
Our movie lunch setup.
We expected today to be full of rain and thunderstorms, but
instead we were given a beautiful, sunny day. Apparently, Zoe
says she has prayed that it will be sunny and not rainy.
The Lord giveth.
So we took advantage of the beautiful day and took a
1.5 mile walk to our neighborhood park. Zoe's friend, Lexi, joined us.
We made it! Enjoying some snacks and water before playing.
Never enough art in a day so we chalked up the basketball court.
Gideon and I took a little break under a tree to
read one of his library books.
The girls went a little crazy with the blue chalk.
Toby took a turn reading one of his books
from the library with me.
We tried a new recipe tonight: cabbage rolls. Delicious!
The kids even gobbled them up. There was just enough
leftover to send with Rod for lunch tomorrow. We'll have
fun getting even more creative with this recipe.
Gideon's art journal entry before bed tonight. He loved
defeating the Ender Dragon on Minecraft today.
Zoe's art journal entry before bed tonight. She
enjoyed getting to play Minecraft with Gideon and Lexi.
Tobyn's art journal entry before bed tonight.
"The Bible"
The dishes are done, showers have been given, and
now it's time for homemade salsa and The Soup with my man.
