Started off the morning with Zoe & Gideon completing their Konnect Challenge Card for the week.
Zoe learned about recognizing fractions in her Math today. She felt a little intimidated at first, but confident after watching the video.
Zoe also did a Mastery Challenge that reviewed the things she's learned most recently.
For handwriting today, Zoe and Gideon worked on writing thank-you notes for Christmas and birthday gifts.
Gideon was introduced to number lines in Math today.

Gideon finished off his Language/English time with an antonym worksheet.
Coloring is a favorite pastime for in-between learning activities.
Zoe worked on writing a poem with shape today in her English class.

Set up for Science project day. Excited to try our first experiment from Gideon's new book he received at Christmas.
We learned about chlorophyll and photosynthesis: seeing how leaves are actually different colors underneath all of the excess chlorophyll that makes them appear green.
More coloring while Tobyn waited for Zoe and Gideon to finish History class.
In History, we read about ancient peoples of West Africa and those who lived in the Sahara Desert.
Finally, Science project time. The kids had fun tearing up the spinach leaves and preparing the experiment.
Zoe made a new little video showcasing her Scratch project today.
Tobyn learned about primary colors on ABCMouse.com today.
We continued to watch our experiment throughout the day. Slowly the green turned to yellow on our dye strip.
We finished our official learning activities off with a snack and our next chapter of "The Last Battle" by C.S. Lewis.
Toward the evening, red started to appear on our dye strip.
